Kenya Embu Rianjagi AB
Mt. Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak, is surrounded by national forests and wildlife reserves, with coffee-growing communities situated along its lower slopes. These high-elevation areas, rich in volcanic soil, are known for producing some of the finest coffees in Kenya, and often the world. Embu County shares similar climate, elevation, and soil with neighbouring Kirinyaga and Nyeri. Although less famous, Embu has a long history of coffee production and strong cooperatives, contributing to Kenya’s reputation for high-quality coffee.

Processing Method
During harvest, Rianjagi processes cherry through depulping, overnight fermentation, and washing, followed by drying on raised tables for 2-3 weeks. To prevent damage from heat and humidity, parchment is covered during peak hours and overnight. After drying, the coffee is conditioned for stability before milling, where it’s sorted by size, ensuring consistency and quality for roasters.
