Guatemala
Guatemala’s coffee is known for its layered sweetness, bright acidity, and floral and fruity notes, with a moderate body and clean aftertaste. The country’s diverse growing regions—such as Antigua, Acatenango, and Jocotenango—offer ideal altitudes, soils, and climates for producing complex, high-quality coffee. Guatemalan coffee ranges from carefully managed estate farms to smallholder plots, each adding to its regional diversity. Despite traditional practices like selling to coyotes, there’s increasing recognition of the quality found in lesser-known regions beyond Antigua.
